Anchoridge offers seamless access to some of Victoria’s most beautiful beaches on the Surf Coast and the Bellarine.

Whether it’s a beach day with the family, a ball-throwing or swimming sesh with your furry friend or peaceful jog, we’ve picked out five of our favourite beaches within 20 minutes of Anchoridge so you can make the most of your coastal lifestyle!

1 - Bancoora Beach, 6 minutes from Anchoridge

Stretching for 1 kilometre and home to its very own Surf Life Saving Club, Bancoora Beach is a safe place to swim and enjoy the water. With toilets, showers and picnic facilities for you to enjoy, bring your beach picnic dreams to life.

With dogs not permitted at Bancoora Beach, just a few minute downs the road you’ll find Breamlea Beach.

2 - Thirteenth Beach, 7 minutes from Anchoridge

A popular surfing destination, Thirteenth Beach is renowned for its rugged beauty as well as consistent and varied surf breaks.

With 4.5km of golden sand between the dunes and waves, this is ideal for walking, jogging or a play with your beach-loving dog.

Thirteenth Beach is patrolled, however it is suited to more experienced surfers or those looking to enjoy some controlled, off lead time with their pet.

3 - Breamlea Beach, 8 minutes from Anchoridge

A place that is sure to become the favourite destination of your furry friend, Breamlea Beach offers 2 kilometres of peaceful, unpatrolled beach. Best of all, it’s dog friendly all year, meaning your beloved pet can join you on your exciting beach adventures.

As Breamlea Beach is unpatrolled, head down the road to Bancoora Beach for casual swimming.

4 - Ocean Grove Main Beach, 16 minutes from Anchoridge

The main beach in Ocean Grove is a family-friendly surf beach that offers safe, enjoyable conditions all year round.

5 - Torquay Front Beach, 17 minutes from Anchoridge

With large grassy areas, picnic and barbecue facilities as well as a safe, sheltered swimming area, Torquay Front Beach is the ultimate family-friendly destination. Facing the town centre, the beach offers seamless access to nearby cafes, restaurants, toilets, playgrounds and more.

The safe, controlled waters are the perfect location for swimmers, stand up paddle boarders and young children. There is also great snorkelling at the nearby Point Danger Marine Sanctuary during low swells.

Dogs are not permitted at Torquay Front Beach, however, the nearby Whites Beach is dog-friendly all year round.
